About Irish Transverse Mercator (ITM)
Irish Transverse Mercator is the national grid for Ireland and Northern Ireland, on the IRENET95 datum (the Irish realisation of ETRS89). It replaced the older Irish Grid for new mapping and is treated as WGS 84 for Google Earth work.
Where it's used: Ireland and Northern Ireland: national mapping, planning and engineering surveys.

- Under Coordinate system, search for “2157” and pick IRENET95 / Irish Transverse Mercator.
- Check one point you know on the map, then press Save KML or Save KMZ (with photos) and open it in Google Earth.
Before you rely on it
Drawings on the older Irish Grid (EPSG 29902) need that system instead. Their numbers are much smaller: about 400 km less in easting and 500 km less in northing than ITM. Always check one known control point before sending a file out.
